AGEING BEAUTIFULLY

As kids, we couldn’t wait to grow up so we could have those thrilling experiences that only the adults enjoyed; We watched with envy as we prayed for the clock to speed up.

Conversely, as adults, we want the clock to slow down. Interesting, isn’t it? At some point, both men and women refuse to tell their ages. I understand completely…….I just feel the need to remind us that claiming that football age does not automatically translate to a younger body. 😂

Gone are the days when man lived to be 300-600 years of age, according to records in the holy books. Even at that age, they were still vibrant and procreating prolifically (if you get what I mean). LOL! 😉

Today, ageing, a natural and obviously inevitable phenomenon, comes with its own not-too-pleasant complications: Arthritis, baldness, prostate disease (in men), osteoporosis (weakness of bone, basically), hypertension or diabetes, cancer in some cases, blindness, grey hair (that everyone works hard to hide thanks to hair dye)

There is only so much that we can do to avoid these experiences. However, the degree of occurrence depends largely on how you have lived your life and treated your body over the years. Decades of abuse comes to bear in your twilight years.

Years ago, a video circulated on social media sites. It was about an 80year old woman named Paddy, who competed on the BGT (Britain;s Got Talent) show 2014 as a Latin Ballroom dancer. Her partner spun her around, threw her up in the air, executed a dance step called the death drop and she kept up with him. He was decades younger than her. I thought to myself, “I want to be like that when I grow up”. I mean, I dance salsa myself so I know what it takes to execute some of those moves

Have you watched it? Didn’t happen overnight I can tell you.

It’s time to take all the health tips we keep giving in here to heart and (wait for it………………………………………) CHOOSE to invest in our bodies for the future.

Reiterating the health tips can get boring but………whatever,.let’s just do it. Lol

Mental, physical and spiritual balance catalyze less turbulent twilight years. Find your center and float in that peaceful oasis.

(even dogs do yoga. Lol!)

It’s easy to get caught up in the “now” and forget about the future. You may continue to throw little bits and pieces of trash in the ocean. After some years, your water gets polluted, your fish get poisoned, trash gets washed up on your beaches, poisoning the soil as well etc. So also it is with your body. Stop abusing it.

Let’s pay closer attention. Take care guys!
