FORMAL SECTOR PROGRAMME

The formal sector social health insurance program is a socialhealth security system instituted by the Federal Government in which the health care of its employees are paid for from funds created by pooling the contribution of both employees and employers.

STATE GOVERNMENT HEALTH SCHEME

This is an extension of the Formal Sector Health Scheme to cover employees of the various State Governments.

TISHIP

This is a social security scheme initiated by the NHIS that ensures that students in tertiary institutions gain quality healthcare services at affordable cost during the period of their education.

This is achieved by pooling funds contributed by students as premiums to the scheme and utilizing them to pay for primary and secondary healthcare services incurred by those who require them.

In this regard, the Organization is currently operating the TISHIP scheme in tertiary institutions in the South West, South East, South-South and in the North.

ORGANIZED PRIVATE SECTOR (OPS) NHIS SOCIAL HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAMME

The Organized Private Sector (OPS) Social Health Insurance Programme is aimed at providing healthcare services to staff of interested organization; forwarding of nominal rolls of staff to the NHIS; thereafter the organizations choose their preferred HMO and then pay contribution to the scheme for the provision of healthcare services to their staff.

NHIS PUBLIC PRIMARY PUPILS SOCIAL HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAMME (PPPSHIP)

This NHIS initiative is designed to provide health Insurance cover to public primary schools pupils nationwide.
